Rob Shuter reports… Former teen queen Ashlee Simpson is returning to TV in a new reality show with hubby Evan Ross — and she’s hoping her mother-in-law, superstar Diana Ross, will join in the filming!
“Ashlee and Evan would love to get his mom on the show,” a source told The National ENQUIRER.
“They’re both nervous about the show’s success and hope the addition of Miss Ross will bring in more viewers.”

But the couple can’t count on any cameos from a glamorously meddling mother-in-law.
“So far,” added the insider, “Miss Ross has not committed. Diana wants to help out her son, but she’s very private!”
