DAVID ARQUETTE is breaking down after learning that his ex-wife, COURTNEY COX, is gett too close to her Irish rock star boyfriend, sources tell The ENQUIRER.
Reports out of Ireland claim that Courteney, 49, and Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid, 37, were recently spotted checking out castles and wedding venues on the Emerald Isle’s scenic west coast.
The “Cougar Town” star was recently linked with rocker Ed Sheeran, but sources confirm she’s been secretly dating McDaid since last summer and the two are reportedly planning a three-day wedding bonanza in the spring.
Now, a family friend says that David is “beside himself” that the former “Friends” beauty has finally found a serious romance.
And it doesn’t seem to matter that the 42-year-old actor is expecting his second child with on/off love Christina McLarty!
“Despite the fact that he has his own relationship, David can’t stand to see Courteney with another man,” revealed the insider.
David’s behavior has been erratic since his marriage to Courteney, which produced daughter Coco, 9, fell apart in 2010. He went to rehab in 2011 for alcohol and depression and gave a now-infamous radio interview to Howard Stern in October, during which he admitted he was drunk and spilled embarrassing details about his ex-wife’s love life.
“He’s on such a self-destructive path at the moment,” the insider added. “He’s drowning his sorrows because he’s so unhappy and tormented by what might have been with Courteney.
“He’ll always love her, and he can’t get his head around the thought of another guy in his place.”
