CANCER SPEEDS FONDA NUPS

description

Getting cancer has scared JANE FONDA into marriage.

The 72-year-old Oscar winner had shelved her plans to wed fiance Richard Perry – but her recent medical drama changed everything…and the nuptials are back on for next year, say insiders.

The actress had a cancerous breast tumor removed in early November but says she has been given a clean bill of health. Now Jane is telling pals the crisis persuaded her to finally settle down with the acclaimed music producer, who’s worked with such superstars as Barbra Streisand and Rod Stewart.

"Richard has been a rock," said a source. "He stuck by her side through the whole ordeal and promised to take care of her, no matter how serious the situation turned out to be.

"Seeing Richard step up to the plate made Jane realize he is truly the man for her."

Doctors discovered the small, localized tumor during a routine checkup. The acting legend – who had breast implants removed years ago – underwent a procedure to remove the cancer.

Jane and Richard, 68, had planned to marry in December, but the nuptials were postponed by a career-focused Jane – until Richard’s overwhelming display of love put marriage back at the top of her list.

Although the three-times-married star had told Oprah Winfrey in October: "I’m not going to get married again," Richard’s devotion melted her heart, said the source.

"Jane has done a turnaround on her anti-marriage stance. The cancer changed Jane’s priorities.

"He is the man of her dreams, and Jane wants to be with him for the rest of her life."
