Caitlyn Jenner’s male-to-female transformation is lacking one very noticeable trait – a sweet and sexy feminine voice. Her answer: more surgery!
The 6-foot-2 Olympic champ formerly known as Bruce is considering yet another operation, this time on her throat.
After speaking at the ESPYs in July, Caitlyn wrote on her blog: “While I felt like I looked great and that the gown looked fabulous, I still have a voice issue. It’s not quite right compared to my feminine appearance.”
Revealed a family friend: “Cait truly hates how she sounds. When she hears a recording of her voice, it makes her cringe. She thinks she still sounds like Bruce!
“Cait hired a voice coach, but that hasn’t made much of a difference.
“She’s made up her mind that she’s going to have the surgery after her show, ‘I Am Cait,’ wraps since she’ll need to be on total voice rest for two weeks.”
The surgery, called feminization laryngoplasty, is often performed on male-to-female transgenders.
The procedure involves making the voice box smaller, and shortening the vocal cords to raise the pitch.
Caitlyn, 65, confided to stepdaughter Kim Kardashian on the Aug. 2 episode of “I Am Cait” that she’s considering the surgery.
But a concerned Kim said she’s worried that Cait – who had a laryngeal shave as Bruce to soften his Adam’s apple – could permanently lose her voice if there are complications.
Despite the risks, Cait’s mind is made up. “She has the stylish wardrobe, a well-shaped figure and a glam squad to do her hair and makeup,” the insider said.
“The one thing Cait’s lacking is a soft, sexy voice, and she desperately wants that!”
