AUSSIE TAXMAN TRAPS CROCODILE DUNDEE

description

PAUL HOGAN aka Crocodile Dundee has been barred from leaving Australia by a court order until he pays multi-million dollar tax bill!

Hogan’s lawyer says the actor who’s now base din America was hit by a writ when he returned to his native Sydney to attend the funeral of his 101 year-old mother by the Australian Taxation Office.

The court order prevent Hogan, 70,  from leaving Australia to return home to the US until he pays his back taxes or makes arrangements to do so.

Hogan was under investigation as part of a tax fraud probe stemming from allegations he placed tens of millions of dollars offshore tax havens, a claim that he has denied, saying he had "paid plenty of tax" in Australia.

"The process of detaining Paul in Australia away from his wife and child in Los Angeles has devastated Paul and he hopes that discussions between us and the ATO will lead to a prompt resolution allowing him to return to his family, and thereafter to travel to and from Australia as his personal and business needs require," his lawyer said.

Hogan shot to international fame as the knife-wielding outback hero in the "Crocodile Dundee" films during the 1980s.
