“Dance Moms” has always been packed with head-spinning drama and buckets of tears, but the sixth season begins with the ticking time bomb that is loudmouth star Abby Lee Miller reaching the end of her fuse and exploding!
“My hair is in rollers, I don’t have a bra on, and I have a huge legal issue going on!” Miller screams into a telephone while also barefoot. “I’m finished!”
Abby is definitely not exaggerating about that legal issue. The federal government has indicted her on charges of hiding more than $750,000 in income and assets when she filed for bankruptcy!
She pleaded not guilty to the accusations, which carry a penalty of up to five years in prison! Her lawyer is trying to extend the deadline for filing additional motions and expects the case to drag into next year.
Meanwhile, Abby knows the show must go on!
“My parents taught me: ‘Hey, you go back in there tomorrow and you put your chin up in the air and do this, that and the other thing and you ignore those people,’” she declared.
If Abby is not up to the task, there’s always somebody else waiting in the wings to take center stage.
“Debbie Allen wanted to welcome our girl,” said the mother of one dancer, “so if Abby’s not prepared, there is a studio that wants us.”
“Dance Moms” returns to Lifetime on Jan. 5 at 9 p.m.
