Pray for Schneider!

Comic actor Pat Harrington Jr. has been secretly battling brain-robbing Alzheimer’s disease!

Now family and friends say the end is near for the beloved star of the CBS sitcom “One Day at a Time.”

“My father is succumbing to Alzheimer’s,” his devastated daughter, Tresa revealed.

“He is physically and mentally disintegrating. I weep, knowing he is not long on this earthly plane.”

Tresa, 50, said the 86-year-old star — who played building superintendent Dwayne Schneider on the show that aired from 1975 to 1984 — had a nasty fall in early November.

He suffered a small brain hemorrhage and spent three weeks in a hospital and nursing home.

“Now he can barely eat,” said a source. “His swallowing mechanism isn’t functioning so well, and he can’t eat solid food. It’s hard to get him to open his mouth to eat.

“His awareness has been worsening significantly. Sadly, he’s facing the end, with only days or weeks to live!”

Pat had four kids with first wife, Marjorie Ann Gortner, before divorcing in 1985 after 30 years of marriage.

He wed second wife Sally Cleaver in 2001 after dating for 16 years.

Said the friend: “Everyone who knows Pat loves him. We’re all praying for him!”
