The carcass of a giant squid has washed up on the shores of Seram Island in Indonesia — as shocked locals gather around the bizarre find!
As seen in the disturbing video above, the creature measures at 48 feet long — with some islanders originally thinking the massive bulk on the beach was a boat!
Now the islanders living along Hulung Beach can only ponder this bizarre bounty from the sea — which is already rotting under the sun.
Nearly all the eyewitness agree that it’s a giant squid washed ashore, but there are others who believe that it’s a whale that’s simply decomposed to the extent of looking more like a squid.
