Ex-BOSTON PATRIOT AARON HERNANDEZ who was arrested on murder charges may be involved in a double homicide as well.

According to law enforcement officials Hernandez, already facing charges in a murder last week in North Attleborough, is also under investigation in connection with a July 2012 double murder in Boston.

Police say Hernandez may have been was involved in a brawl at a club in the  South End of Boston, the Cure, between two men and a group that included the ex-Pat.

Two men, Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado, left the club with three other men in a BMW sedan in the early morning hours of July 16, 2012. When they stopped for a red light a silver or gray SUV with Rhode Island license plates pulled alongside. A person opened fire from the SUV, killing both Abreu, 29, and Furtado, 28.

The other pasengers in the car survived but the killings remain unsolved.

Investigators now believe that Odin Lloyd, the man Hernandez is charged with killing June 17, may have had information about Hernandez’s role in the unsolved double murder.

“The motive might have been that the victim knew (Hernandez) might have been involved,” a law enforcement official said.

Hernandez pleaded not guilty Wednesday to murder and firearms charges in Attleboro District Court in the killing of Lloyd.
