REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA hubby APOLLO NIDA sentenced to 8 big ones after pleading guilty to federal fraud charges.
Nida the husband of Phaedra Parks, one of the reality show’s stars pleaded guilty May 6 to conspiring to commit mail, wire and bank fraud.
During his sentencing hearing in U.S. District Court in Atlanta today, federal prosecutors said Nida, 35, was also ordered to pay restitution to victims of a $2.3 million scheme.
Prosecutors charged that Nida and co-conspirators since 2009 had stolen victims’ IDs and used them to obtain checks, file fraudulent tax returns and make phony claims against the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Federal authorities charged that Nida and his posse laundered money by opening bank accounts in its victims’ names.
