Devoted faithful woman loses home as church goes bankrupt, but Schullers clan living like high and mighty Princes of Egypt!
If there was anybody in the world she could trust, Kristina Oliver thought it was the Rev. Robert Schuller, one of the nation’s most famous and best-loved TV evangelists.
But now her faith in the leader of the famed Crystal Cathedral has shattered and caused her family to lose their home!
Like many of those who toiled at the cathedral, Kristina has become poverty strickenafter the cathedral filed for bankruptcy — failing to pay both employees and vendors.
Meanwhile, the Schullers and several of their associates are still living the high life and enjoying millions of dollars in salaries and other perks.
Kristina’s family brought camels, horses and sheep to the church’s popular Christmas pageants for three decades. She claims the church, famous for its Hour of Power TV program, owes her more than $56,000 – and says the unpaid debt caused her to lose her home.
In October, Kristina, 41, and her family – including her husband, who is recovering from cancer, and two small children – were locked out of their property, which went into foreclosure because they could no longer pay the mortgage.
An angry Kristina told The ENQUIRER: "What the Schullers and the Crystal Cathedral did to us is wrong. They paid themselves before they paid us.
"They’re still living in the lap of luxury, and we’re just barely making ends meet."
Documents filed in the bankruptcy case show that the Orange County, Calif., reveal cathedral owes about $7.5 million to creditors.
Yet, 23 ministry insiders and Schuller relatives enjoyed handsome salaries and multiple benefits in the year prior to the Crystal Cathedral Ministries filing for Chapter 11 reorganization.
Schuller family members and associates own homes in posh areas such as Newport Coast and Laguna Beach, Calif., and Hawaii.
One of them even owns the $1.05 million Colorado house where child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey was killed!
