On December 24, 2000, Susan was found murdered execution-style in her Benedict Canyon house (seen here) in California. Durst had been in the area, and police found that he had flown from San Francisco to New York the night before her body was discovered. Durst refused to be questioned about Susan's murder, but said in a 2005 deposition that she had recently told him: "The Los Angeles police contacted me. They wanted to talk about Kathie Durst's disappearance."

The wealthy weirdo almost managed to disappear after Susan's death. Then he admitted to killing his elderly neighbor Morris Black in 2001! Assorted body parts of Morris had been found in plastic bags floating in Galveston Bay near Durst's home in Galveston, Tex. — where the millionaire had moved to avoid the cops after Susan's murder. Shocked authorities found that Durst had been living in a boarding house while posing as a mute woman to avoid the law!

Amazingly, Durst would only end up serving a short sentence for jumping bail. His high-priced attorneys convinced a jury that Durst had murdered 71-year-old Morris in self-defense. The jury didn't seem too concerned about Durst admitted to covering up the crime by dismembering Morris' body. The victim's head was never found.

In another conversation about the death of Susan Berman, the producers confronted Durst with a letter he had sent to his friend. The handwriting resembled a note that had been mysteriously sent to Beverly Hills police to alert them that a dead body was at Susan's address. Both notes misspelled "Beverly" as "Beverley."
