The veteran reporter — who became a star on ABC's "20/20" broadcasts — then told his fans not to worry. "My doctors tell me my growth was caught early and I'll be fine," Stossel wrote. "Soon, I will barely notice that a fifth of my lung is gone."

Stossel also showed that the bad news wasn't about to slow down his fighting spirit — as he complained about how he was being treated at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital! "As a consumer reporter, I have to say, the hospital's customer service stinks," he wrote. "Doctors keep me waiting for hours, and no one bothers to call or email to say, 'I'm running late.'"

"Few doctors give out their email address," he added. "Patients can't communicate using modern technology." John then used his horrific health announcement as an opportunity to make more points against Obamacare!

"I'm as happy as the next guy to have government or my insurance company pay, but the result is that there's practically no free market," he complained. "Leftists say the solution to such problems is government health care. But did they not notice what happened at Veterans Affairs? Bureaucrats let veterans die, waiting for care."

His fans were relieved to see that John wasn't letting his illness distract him from reporting — but some went to social media to implore him to keep his priorities straight. Wrote one: "Wait until you're better before you start complaining about the hospital!"
