IRE OF NEWT AS MONEY MEN QUIT

Presidential wanna-be NEWT GINGRICH’s fundraisers say “Outta here!”

Now, officials say the much-married GOP candidate's nose-diving presidential campaign is more than $1 million in debt.

Fundraising director Jody Thomas and money consultant Mary Heitman were the latest smack in the face for the former House speaker who stood by as 16 top advisers abandoned his campaign en masse earlier this month.

Sources familiar with the campaign say the Newt campaign over-spending has been described as “dire”.

Others say “sinking ship”.

The former Georgia lawmaker has racked up massive travel bills, AP reported, but newly minted bills have trickled in slowly since Newt first threw his hat into the proverbial Presidential ring.

Gingrich is personally wealthy and obviously could fund the campaign out of his own pocket, at least during the short term.
