Missing blonde beauty disappears in Aruba, echoing the disappearance of NATALEE HOLLOWAY.
Robyn Gardner, 35, from Maryland disappeared in the popular Caribbean paradise.
Her companion at the time Gary Giordano, 50, told Aruba cops she vanished while snorkeling in Nanki, the island's southernmost region.
Giordano was arrested after attempting to flee and is being grilled by law enforcement, authorities said. In a desperate attempt to reconstruct Gardner’s last hours, search parties scoured the beaches.
The Aruba Herald reported Giordano and Gardner had been seeing one another regularly for weeks and met through an online dating website. He purchased the tickets and then invited Gardner on the Caribbean getaway. They were staying together at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino.
Yet, in Washington, DC Richard Forester claims to be the blonde’s boy friend.“I can't even explain it… It's been six days," Forester told WJLA 7 News.
He and Gardner had been dating for more than two years, but had a major blowout before she jetted to Aruba July 31, he said.
"The last message I got from her was, 'I love you, we'll talk and sort things out when I get back,'" Forester said. He claimed Giordano was a rival for Gardner's affections."I just don't think that she was snorkeling," Forester attested. "Something happened at this person's hands."
Natalee Holloway disappeared while on vacation in Aruba. Dutch thug Joran van der Sloot remains the key suspect in that case.
The 5-foot-5, 120-pound Gardner has blond hair, brown eyes, and tattoos on her rib cage, right bicep and left arm. Anyone with information is asked to contact Aruba authorities at 011-297-597-5201.
