GOO-GOO, GAA-GAA . . . ! How’s this for baby talk?! Feuding “Daddy Day Care” stars Eddie Murphy and Anjelica Huston both refused to come out of their trailers until the other emerged first! The movie’s just begun lensing, but crewmembers are already grumbling that these spoiled brats need daycare themselves!!
On the second day of shooting the call time was 7 a.m. and Anjelica was asked to come to the set from her trailer. But the first words out of her mouth were, “Is EDDIE already on set?” Informed that he wasn’t, she replied: “When HE arrives on set, THEN come and let me know.” When Eddie heard Anjelica wouldn’t come out of her trailer, HIS response was: LADIES FIRST! (Oh, puh-LEEZ!) This went on for an hour and a half, back and forth! Director Steve Carr, caught in the middle, finally had to convince both actors to get to work! And even then, “You could tell that this was going to be like the battle at the O.K. Corral!” carped a crewmember. Eddie’s also making waves with outrageous demands — on top of his $25 million paycheck. He has a $200-a-week budget for socks because he likes to change them several times a day and won’t allow them to be washed — they MUST be thrown away after one use! And anything he eats must be fresh and unopened and at the end of the day any uneaten portion MUST be thrown away — it can’t be given away! Eddie, whose “Pluto Nash” was an H-bomb, had a further demand: Everyone has been warned NEVER to speak the words “Pluto Nash” on the set!
