Voluptuous Sofia Vergara stacks up as an armful for any man, but when her TV hubby – 69-year-old “Modern Family” star Ed O’Neill – heard the show’s director suggesting a strong stunt double for a scene where Ed’s character tears off Wifey’s dress and carries her upstairs to the bedroom, real-life Ed reacted … er, strongly!
Said My SpyWitness: “Seething at the hint that he’s old and weak, Ed startled cast and crew – and gasping Sofia – when he suddenly reached over, picked her up and lifted her above his head, strutting around the set to show off his manliness as she giggled! Everyone applauded, and later filmed several takes of Ed tearing off Sofia’s dress and carrying her upstairs over and over!”
Ed later admitted to some sore muscles, but never got a back rub from Sofia!
