A bitter tug-of-love over their daughter’s schooling is threatening to drive TOM CRUISE and KATIE HOLMES apart, sources told The ENQUIRER exclusively.
The Mission: Impossible star is adamant that SURI be home-schooled like his two older children Connor, 16, and Isabella, 18.
But Katie is just as insistent that Suri attend a private school, and pals fear the ugly impasse could be the final straw for their stormy four-year marriage.
"Suri turns 5 in April and her official Scientology education is about to begin, but deciding how to go about it has suddenly turned into one of the biggest crises of Tom and Katie’s entire relationship," said one insider.
But Katie, 32, had a more traditional education at Notre Dame Academy, an all-girls Catholic high school in her hometown of Toledo, Ohio, the source noted.
"(Katie) wants the same kind of experience for her daughter, even if it can’t be in a Catholic school."
