MADONNA WANTED PRINCESS DI HOME FOR WEDDING

description

Now the world knows that Madonna will most likely wed next week in Scotland, but who would have guessed that her first choice for the location of the ceremony was at the estate where the late Princess Di is buried?

That’s right. The American pop icon wrote to Earl Spencer, Diana’s brother, and asked if she could use Althorp House for her wedding.

You might think the all-too-proper family of the princess rejected the Material Girl outright, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

“It is not true to say Earl Spencer rejected the star,” said Althorp House spokesperson David Fawkes, “only that we could not provide the facilities.”

Translation: They couldn’t accommodate Madonna’s plans for the occasion.

Althorp House is open to the public for two months each summer, though the island where Princess Diana is buried is not accessible.
