Anna Nicole Smith‘s lawyer Howard K. Stern says he’s the father of her newborn baby, named Dannie Lynn Hope, and that he and Anna plan to marry. “Right now we have to somehow get through what we’re going through,” Stern said. “And I’ll tell you, our baby is the one ray of hope.” Stern appeared on Larry King Live on Tuesday to announce his paternity claim and discuss the death of Anna’s son Daniel on Sept 10. “We’re still waiting to find out what the cause is,” Stern said about Daniel’s autopsy results. “We also now have an indication that there may have been other prescriptive medication in his system.” Stern descibed picking Daniel up from the airport in the Bahamas and said Daniel was excited to meet his new sister. Stern said Daniel stayed in the hopsital room and helped his mom, who was recovering from a C-section. “And then at one point Daniel said to me, ‘How come I’m so tired?’ And in hindsight I wish that I had seen that as some sort of a signal and seen that something wasn’t right,” Stern said. The next morning, Anna noticed Daniel wasn’t breathing and called for help to resuscitate him, according to Stern. “She stayed there and we were at the foot of the bed and she was hugging Daniel’s legs,” he said. “And she was praying to Jesus and she was telling Jesus to take her and not take Daniel.” Stern said he and Anna will live in Bahamas and marry “at some point.”
