ANNA NICOLE UPDATE

description

There’s a new twist in the investigation of the death of Anna Nicole Smith‘s son Daniel, who died Sept 10 in the Bahamas. On Wednesday, authorities reassigned the coroner handling the investigation due to complaints that the case was receiving special treatment. “They’ve been complaining that, ‘How is it that this case just came up and a date has been set and our case has been pending for years and we don’t have a date yet,'” Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez told the AP. Head coroner Linda Virgill responded to her ouster, saying, “I am but a civil servant. I serve at the whims of whoever.” Chief Magistrate Gomez also said he is waiting on toxicology reports to determine whether Daniel’s death was suspicious after all. Officials in the Bahamas issued a death certificate for Daniel Smith but left the cause of death undetermined pending toxicology tests, according to the Smith family’s attorney Michael Scott.
