Family Ties star Meredith Baxter confirms ENQUIRER exclusive revealing her sexuality on TV after years of speculation.
The actress — who starred as a mom on sitcom Family Ties — revealed on the Today Show that she is a lesbian, something she’s kept secret for the past several years.
Meredith also revealed she was a late bloomer when coming to grips with her sexuality.
"I am a lesbian and it was a later-in-life recognition," Baxter, 62, told Today Show host Matt Lauer.
"Some people would say, well, you’re living a lie and, you know, the truth is – not at all. This has only been for the past seven years.
"I’ve always lived a very private life.To come out and disclose stuff is very antithetical to who I am," she divulged to millions.
The National Enquirer first reported that Baxter was spotted last month aboard a Caribbean cruise sponsored by lesbian travel company Sweet, reporting that she was seen "traveling with a female friend, and she seemed very relaxed and comfortable."
Baxter confessed she enjoyed the vacation with longtime GF Nancy Locke, despite the possibility that the couple might be outed.
"I don’t want to be worried all the time," she said.
"I knew I was pushing it."
