Love-crazed astronaut Lisa Nowak claims she drove 900 miles from Houston to Orlando in adult diapers to “talk to” and “scare” love rival Colleen Shipman. But top forensic experts believe Nowak’s plans were far more sinister.
After examining the items in Nowak’s possession at the time of her arrest, the experts say it’s likely Nowak planned to murder Shipman – or bury her alive.
Nowak, 43, a married mother of three, couldn’t deal with the fact that the man she was in love with, Navy Commander William Oefelein, was apparently romantically involved with Shipman.
According to Dr. Cyril Wecht, the renowned forensic pathologist, each item Nowak brought with her to Orlando could have served a specific purpose in her devious plan:
Latex gloves…often used to prevent a criminal from leaving fingerprints.
Four feet of rubber tubing…could be used as restraints, to bind the arms and legs of a victim.
A hammer…could be used as a weapon to injure or kill.
A buck knife with a 4-inch serrated blade…could be used to kill a person as well as to dissect a body.
Several large plastic bags…could be used for disposal of body parts.
