CHELSEA’s WEDDING CRISIS

Bill Clinton‘s emergency hospitalization left devoted daughter Chelsea so shaken that she’s moving up her wedding date, say sources.

When the 63-year-old former president experienced chest pain and was rushed to a New York hospital Feb. 11, a terrified Chelsea raced to her father’s bedside, say insiders.

"All Chelsea could think about was her dad not making it through and her dream of having him walk her down the aisle never materializing," a close source told The ENQUIRER.

"Chelsea decided right then that if her father pulled through, she needed to move up her wedding" to fiance Marc Mezvinsky, adds the source.

"She said she’d be happy marrying Marc in front of a justice of the peace or in a quickie ceremony at city hall, as long as her dad could be at her side, despite her wish for a big wedding this summer."

After experiencing chest pain, the former president went quickly to New York-Presbyterian hospital, where he had undergone quadruple bypass surgery six years ago. Within about 90 minutes, an emergency procedure was performed to insert two new stents to open a clogged heart artery.

Doctors concluded that Clinton had not suffered a heart attack and gave him an "excellent" prognosis. Even though Chelsea’s dad returned home to Chappaqua the next day, her fears are well-founded, according to experts.

A friend of Chelsea disclosed: "She’s still scared. As she raced across Manhattan to get to the hospital, her nightmare was finding her dad either dead or dying.

"She knows her fiance Marc will do whatever she wants. Her feeling is to move the wedding date up because no one can predict what the future will bring.

"She’ll probably go ahead with a city hall ceremony rather than wait for an A-list August wedding on Martha’s Vineyard, which had been her dream. This incident has reminded her that her father won’t be around forever."

Last April 6, The ENQUIRER was first to report the 29-year-old former first daughter’s plans to wed Mezvinsky, 32, a New York banker and son of a former Iowa congressman.

The pair have known each other for more than 15 years, but got serious only after Chelsea broke off her college romance with Ian Klaus in 2005.

Concluded the close source: "Chelsea wishes she could shrug off what just happened. But it made her realize how fragile her dad’s health is."

As for Marc, added the source: "All he wants is to hear Chelsea say, ‘I do.’"
