In a blockbuster exclusive interview with The National ENQUIRER, Charlie Sheen has revealed he’s secretly suffered through a terrifying cancer nightmare during the past year.
The actor – one of Hollywood’s most notorious party animals – divulged that he was diagnosed with a potentially life-threatening pre-cancerous throat condition, and instantly feared his life was over.
“I flashed forward to a scene with all my kids around my hospital bed,” the 49-year-old “Anger Management” star told The ENQUIRER, in a soul-bearing interview.
“I took it right to the end. I did not think about treatment or anything. I just thought about who’s going to show up to my funeral!”
Privately struggling with the weight of the crushing diagnosis, Sheen said he immediately became haunted by the memory of his father, acting legend Martin Sheen, who collapsed with a heart attack while filming “Apocalypse Now” in the 1970s.
“It was terrifying,” the Tinseltown bad boy recalled to The ENQUIRER’s Editor-In-Chief Dylan Howard from his multi-million dollar Los Angeles estate.
Sheen’s devastating health crisis began when he lost his voice while filming his popular FX series.
“We were shooting 20 to 25 scenes a day and my voice couldn’t handle it,” said the wild-living father-of-five. “There were days where you could hear my voice going so we’d be forced to cut a couple scenes [at] the end.
“It started going out pretty regularly on a Friday, but it would be fine by Monday … then it started getting worse.”
Realizing something was seriously wrong, Sheen sought out medical help.
“My doctor said he saw something in my throat, but it was nothing to worry about, and he’d keep an eye on it. But it just kept getting worse.”
Eventually, Sheen – long known for battling booze and drug problems – decided to see a leading surgeon who is a world-renowned specialist in throat and vocal cord cancer.
