Kate Winslet and her husband, director Sam Mendes, are calling it quits after nearly seven years of marriage.
"Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year," their lawyers said in a statement. "The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children."
The couple married in 2003 and have one son together, Joe, 6. Winslet also has a daughter, Mia, 9, from her first marriage to Jim Threapleton.
Winslet, 34, and Mendez, 44, were both born in Reading, England. ‘
They collaborated professionally in 2008 on Revolutionary Road.
Kate said at the Golden Globes last year, “Thank you for directing this film, babe, and thank you for killing us every single day and really enjoying us actually being in such horrific pain.Â
