Tom Hanks’ drug zombie son Chet Hanks is suffering a bad case of poor me — blaming his dope dealing and crack snorting on his famous father!
The 25-year-old problem child posted an Instagram video whining: “It’s been a long journey discovering who I am. Because of all the pressures I’ve dealt with in my life — you know, being the son of my dad and everything.”
But insiders are quick to note Colin Hanks, Tom’s son with late first wife Samantha Lewes, hasn’t had a problem living in his famous father’s “shadow.”
Colin, 37, is a successful actor/director currently starring in the CBS comedy, “Life in Pieces.”
But it’s a different story with Chet, who revealed on video: “A couple months ago, I was selling coke, doing crack until I couldn’t even snort it up my nose anymore because it was so clogged.”
The kid’s dad and mom Rita Wilson just want Chet’s nightmare to end.
“Tom is praying Chet’s most recent rehab stint will finally stick. He longs for Chet to clean up his act,” said an insider.
“But Chet knows exactly what to say to get what he wants from Tom.
“He’s been doing this since high school. He’s a master manipulator.
“The fear is Chet’s playing Tom — like he has for years!”
