Caylee Anthony farewell today.
A public memorial is set today in Orange County for Caylee Anthony, the 2 year old toddler who mysteriously vanished before the grisly remains of her corpse were finally discovered by authorities.
Her mother Casey Anthony, 22, remains in jail and has been charged with first-degree murder in the child’s death.
The memorial will be televised on local TV against the wishes of Casey.
"I still don’t want a public event with cameras and everybody around for Caylee’s service, but I can’t stop my parents from doing what they want," Anthony said in the statement related to media by her lawyer.
Anthony’s parents, Cindy and George (who was recently hospitalized after breaking down) scheduled the service at the 5,000 seat First Baptist Church of Orlando – not that far from Disneyworld.
According to police, Casey can watch her daughter’s memorial on TV if she requests it. She didn’t.
"Casey, I wish you could be here today," Cindy Anthony addressed the mourners, her voice cracking emotionally.
"I wish I could take away your pain and wipe away your tears. Caylee was so much like you. She got your beauty and your compassion. She will always love you."
