The red-hot country singer ended their two-month romance in December to focus on her career, but the Twilight hunk hopes to persuade her to give him another chance, insiders say.
The two will soon reunite to promote their movie Valentine’s Day.
"He plans to overwhelm Taylor with four dozen red roses, a diamond friendship ring and a romantic dinner date when they’re both in Los Angeles," a source told The ENQUIRER.
"He whole heartedly believes they have something special and that it’s worth fighting for."
The 17-year-old wolf-boy captured the heart of bouncy Taylor, a 5-time winner at the American Music Awards, after getting the approval of her mom Andrea.
Agreeing to Andrea’s stringent dating rules, Lautner was the devoted boyfriend – sitting stage-side at two of Swift’s concerts in Chicago, and enjoying multiple dinner dates in L.A.
But then Swift suddenly said "Sayonara" to her hunky heart-throb.
But Lautner made a desperate bid to salvage their relationship when he jetted into Swift’s Tennessee hometown on Dec. 13 as a 20th birthday surprise.
But with a world tour keeping her busy through June, Swift "wants to channel her energy into her career," divulged the insider.
"But Lautner isn’t accepting her rejection. The way he sees it, this is nothing more than a minor setback in an enduring love affair."
