SEX AND THE CITY STAR HAD CANCER

Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda on Sex and the City revealed she had breast cancer two years ago.

The 42 year-old actress told Good Morning America that she was diagnosed during a routine trip to the doctor.

The mass was promptly removed and after undergoing radiation therapy, Nixon is now fully recovered.

“I didn’t want to make it public while I was going through it,” Nixon confided.  “I felt scared.”

And for good reason – Nixon’s mother survived two bouts with breast cancer.

“Knowing my personal risk made me more aware and more empowered when I faced my own diagnosis,” Nixon said.
