It took 45 years, but RYAN O'NEAL and ALI MACGRAW are getting a happy ending to their “Love Story” – as the doomed lovers of the 1970 hit film start planning a real-life wedding!
“Ryan and Ali can’t believe it took all this time for a love connection to happen between them. But Ryan keeps saying, ‘Better late than never!’” a source told The National ENQUIRER.
The former co-stars were reunited for an interview last year – and Ryan, 73, didn’t miss the chance to proclaim, “I love her and have always loved her!” Ali, 75, cautiously replied, “There’s a line around the block of [Ryan’s] broken hearts.”
But after the interview, said the source: “Ryan and Ali began to bond over stories about the ups and downs of their lives.
“It wasn’t long before Ryan admitted to Ali that he was falling in love with her.
“Ali was shocked, because she felt the same way! “Neither wants to waste any time. Ryan proposed to Ali over the holidays, and they’re planning a small, intimate wedding in June.”
The insider also revealed that the nuptials might include the classic line from the film that first brought Ryan and Ali together.
“When Ryan apologized to Ali for not pursuing her until their golden years, she said, ‘Ryan, love means never having to say you’re sorry.’”
