REGIS PHILBIN shocks viewers this morning, says he’s retiring from weekday chat show after 25 years!
"I don’t want to alarm anybody … but this will be my last year on this show," Philbin said. "It’s been a long time…And it was the biggest thrill of my life."
Philbin, 79, made the announcement at the start of Tuesday’s Live With Regis and Kelly which he has been doing with one cohost or another for decades.
Philbin, in recent years, underwent both heart bypass and hip surgery in the past few years
Regis said he was stepping down at the end of the summer but didn’t say specify the exact date or why.
Reege watchers are rampant with theories from ill health to he’s plumb sick of Kelly Ripa but it may just be because he’s nearly 80 and would just like to chill out.
