Regis Philbin, 75, is recovering after he successfully underwent triple-bypass surgery on Wednesday. According to the New York Post, the operation was performed at Weill Cornell Medical Center by Dr. O. Wayne Isom, who performed quintuple-bypass surgery on David Letterman in January 2000.
Philbin’s Live With Regis & Kelly co-host Kelly Ripa sent her well wishes on Thursday morning’s show. “Regis, we love you so much. Come back to us.” Regis is expected to be out for five weeks.
