PUTIN ON THE RITZ: MIRACLE ON ICE TWO?

VLAD the regaler drops by US Olympic house for a little boozy détente before Russia-US showdown on ice. Go Team USA!

Russian President Vladimir Putin dropped in on U.S. Olympic headquarters to chat about the Winter Games and the upcoming Russia-U.S. hockey showdown in Miracle on Ice re-match, AP reported.

Putin was even sportin’ red Team USA pin on his lapel.

Putin  hung with U.S. Olympic Committee chairman Larry Probst and CEO Scott Blackmun and chilled with a little red vino.

The media detente on tomorrows preliminary round men's hockey game between the Americans and Russians is revving memories of the "Miracle on Ice," when the underdog U.S. beat the Soviets to clinch the gold medal at the 1980 Games in Lake Placid.

"Naturally we will root for our own, but we know how many of our athletes play in the NHL," Putin said, according to Russian news agencies. "I promise you we have a lot of fans who love and know American players."

Putin is expected to attend the game and Root-Root -ROOT for the Russkies!

President Barack Obama will not be attending – the first time neither a president, VP nor First Lady attended the Olympics --which many perceive to be a snub over the icy relations between America and the former USSR over NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden’s asylum in Moscow.
