Devoted dad Pierce Brosnan rushed to the rescue during a family crisis — when BOTH his sons were suddenly thrust into a fight for their lives just days apart.

First, the 007 hero had to make a mad dash from the set of his new James Bond movie to the bedside of 18-year-old Sean — who was rushed to a hospital and underwent a lifesaving operation for an abdominal injury in mid-March.

Then just days later, 29-year-old Chris was also rushed to the hospital after collapsing and falling into a coma following a night of partying.

A stunned Brosnan mounted a bedside vigil for Sean, who was in intensive care for a day after the surgery and had to spend days in the hospital.

“It’s just one thing after another for Pierce,” said an insider.

The 48-year-old actor’s nightmare began when Sean fell ill in the middle of the night at his exclusive English private school, Millfield. After being whisked to the hospital, he underwent emergency surgery.

The surgery was necessary because of lingering problems linked to his near-fatal car crash in California two years ago, sources told The ENQUIRER.

Sean was one of six people who cheated death in a Chevy Blazer when it ran off a narrow, twisting road in Malibu and plunged 160 feet down a steep incline.

“Sean has always said he has never really felt he properly recovered from his crash injuries,” revealed a former schoolmate.

Still reeling from Sean’s recent surgery, Pierce was stunned by another hammer blow when son Chris — who’s battled booze and drug addiction — landed in the hospital.

Chris had reportedly spent the night partying at one of London’s hot clubs — China White — then went back to the apartment of one of the club’s owners.

Paramedics were called at 6 a.m. after he collapsed and fell into a coma. He was rushed to the hospital in serious condition — but is now recovering.

Police were called to the apartment but said they found no drugs and were taking no action.

Movie producer Chris was fined nearly $1,500 in 1996 for drunk driving in the U.S. — and then a year later spent three months in a British jail for the same offense.

He was once booted out of a London club for brawling and only last year he checked into rehab just weeks after Brosnan’s wedding to Keely Shaye Smith.

Chris is the son of Pierce’s late wife Cassandra from her first marriage. Pierce adopted Chris before Cassandra tragically died of ovarian cancer in 1991 at the age of 39.

Sean is the only child from Brosnan’s marriage to Cassandra.

“Pierce loves Chris as his own son and he’s always been there for him as well as for Sean,” said showbiz writer York Membery, author of a best-selling Brosnan biography.

“Pierce is a fighter and he loves his kids and has always stood by them.”
