In the midst of an embattled contract negotiation, Abdul ultimately rejected a 30 percent pay hike, a source told AP.
More likely that Abdul was still fuming over the ginormous multi-million dollar increase in co-host Ryan Seacrest‘s Idol payday.
As The ENQUIRER previously reported looming large over the past year was the specter of the former Idol contestant and Abdul stalker who committed suicide in front of her home.
Idol producers released a statement saying they were "saddened" by the popular Paula’s departure.
