PAULA ABDUL has dropped to 93 pounds – and those close to her are terrified she’s suffering from a bulimia relapse!
The petite 49-year-old judge on TV’s new “The X Factor” has lost the weight in order to compete with slimmer, much-younger co-star Nicole Scherzinger, said a source.
But some friends are now concerned that something more serious is going on, and that she may have developed a life-threatening eating disorder again.
“We’re very concerned about Paula now and hoping she can pull out of this,” said an insider.
“Right now her cheeks are hollowed out and her legs have become pin-thin. It would be terrible if she’s fallen back to her old ways just because of this new show.”
Paula battled eating problems for years and was treated at a clinic for bulimia in 1994 when her weight plummeted to a dangerously low 86 pounds.
“I realized I needed professional help when I looked at myself in the mirror one day,” Paula said at the time.
“My body looked like a skeleton! I could see my bones sticking out through my skin. My legs looked as thin as toothpicks.”
