Paris Hilton was released from Century Regional Detention Facility on Tuesday, June 26 at about 15 minutes after midnight. “She fulfilled her debt. She was obviously in good spirits. She thanked people as she left,” said Los Angeles sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore.

The Simple Life star was greeted by the paparazzi as well as her parents who waited in a black SUV. Hilton, wearing a green jacket and her hair in a braid, beamed as she waved to the crowd and then headed home with her family.

Paris will dish about her time in jail to Larry King on Wednesday but before her release, Hilton told Ryan Seacrest that she’s ready to start fresh. “I appreciate everything now and I think there was a lot of bad people that I was around and I don’t want to surround myself with those types of people anymore.”

Paris also said she hoped to build a “transitional home” for women who are newly released from jail. “These women just keep coming back because they have no place to go,” Paris said, adding, “[it’s] a really bad cycle and if we stop it now, we can make our community a better place.”
