PARIS HILTON ASKS GOV. SCHWARZENEGGER FOR HELP, FILES APPEAL

Paris Hilton is urging fans to help keep her out of jail by asking them to sign a petition which will be sent to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. "I urge all fans and supporters and all that are outraged by injustice to sign this petition," writes Hilton on her MySpace page. The petition was started by her friend Joshua.

Paris has filed an appeal after a judge sentenced her to 45 days in jail for violating her probation. The hotel heiress has also rehired her publicist Elliot Mintz who took the fall for Paris during her probation confusion. On Sunday, Mintz said he and Hilton had parted ways because of a "misunderstanding she received from me regarding the terms of her probation." After a dinner meeting on Monday, Mintz was back on the job.
