Media goes nuts after reports of Sarah Palin‘s divorce from First Dude hubby Todd were suddenly everywhere.
The website AlaskaReport.com first reported "multiple sources in Wasilla and Anchorage" confirming the Palins were on the verge of splitting. They also cited The ENQUIRER’s ground breaking world exclusive from 2008 about Sarah’s secret affair.
Also jumping on the frenzy was Immorality Report which quoted a source alleging Sarah was "finished with Todd."
Since suddenly stepping down from her position as Alaska governor and thereby sidestepping several investigative probes into alleged continued misuse of power, Palin remains the center of a political whirlwind of controversy.
Insiders speculate that after being found culpable in the Troopergate scandal and that First Dude Todd Palin may have been running the 49th State as a "shadow governor", Sarah may be looking to extricate herself from both legal and criminal scandal by divorcing herself legally from Todd.
But before the ink was dry in Johnny-come-lately newspapers, the Palin campaign camp denied the divorce reports on Palin’s Facebook page, "The Palins remain married, committed to each other and their family." Two Palin attorneys also jumped on the denial claims.
Meanwhile Palin herself remains mum, not having Tweeted since her bizarre resignation address.
But like all good politicians and PR flacks Palin’s camp knows that often the best offense is a good strident denial.
