The Alphabet Net’s bid to rehab The View with new blood may have watched the most watched preem is years BUT those lofty ratings have quickly fallen.
One of the reasons for The VIEW’s inflated initial numbers was a major Nielsen malfunction.
But with the gear said to be in fine working order The Views ratings are not.
The vet chatfest 18th season, with Rosie O’Donnell back in the saddle table and joined by Whoopi Goldberg, actress Rosie Perez and Republican analyst Nicolle Wallace, has ratings drop below last year when the need for a Barbra Walters makeover was more than apparent, The Hollywood Reporter said.
It’s key ratings demo is even below where it was five years ago.
And “The Talk” over on CBS with Julie Chen is said to be clocking The View leading the AM yak pack.
Insiders say ABC better come up with a quick fix or it’ll be “eyes wide shut” for The View.
