MR. ED STAR GONE

description

Connie Hines, 79, who starred on the classic TV show Mr. Ed is gone.

Mr Ed was of course about a talking horse with more than horse sense who only talked to his pal Wilbur Post played Alan Young

Connie was born in Needham, Mass. in 1930, married at 17 and joined a stock company in Miami.  After a divorce she joined the Helen Hayes stock company in New York.

By 22 she had relocated to Hollywood and one of her first gig was on the chopper show Whirlybirds with Kenneth Tobey

She then landed the co-starring role on Mr. Ed from 1961 -1965.

The blonde beauty was a cathode ray show stopper in the early days of TV appearing on such shows Bronco, The Millionaire, M Squad, Johnny Ringo, The Untouchables, Shotgun Slade, Perry Mason, Sea Hunt, Bonanza , Fractured Flickers and The Mod Squad

Connie retired from acting in 1971 but insured her niche in TV history with deft comic timing. In her later days, she appeared at many fan conventions with her beloved costar Alan Young.

Pop FYI: Western star Alan “Rocky” Lane provided the voice of the talking horse Mr. Ed.
