Rep. Michele Bachmann yeeh-hawed her presidential campaign in Waterloo, Iowa, and in one interview promised to mimic the spirit of Waterloo's own John Wayne.
The only problem: Waterloo's John Wayne was NOT The Duke but John Wayne Gacy, serial killer.
Yet. Bachmann who grew up in Waterloo, told Fox News: "Well what I want them to know is just like, John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa.
"That's the kind of spirit that I have, too."

John Wayne, the movie legend, WAS from Iowa — his birthplace a celebrated landmark – IN Winterset, not Waterloo.
John Wayne Gacy kicked off his criminal career in Waterloo, where he had his first criminal conviction for an attempted homosexual assault, landing him in prison for 18 months.
