Mary Tyler Moore’s Pals Praying For A Papal Miracle!

Marys pal praying for a papal miracle ne short

Mary Tyler Moore needs a miracle – and friends are begging Pope Francis to personally bless the TV icon in hopes of reviving the dying star!

“Mary is deeply religious, and once had an audience with Pope John Paul II,” a close source told The National ENQUIRER. “Her friends have reached out to officials in Vatican City, hoping Pope Francis will stop by her Connecticut mansion after he visits New York City this month.

“They’re praying His Holiness will find an extra hour in his busy schedule for her. His blessing may be the only thing between life and death for poor Mary!”

Sadly, 78-year-old Mary is a shell of her former self. As The ENQUIRER has reported, the beloved TV legend has lost her decades-long struggle with numerous health woes.

The wheelchair-bound star suffers from diabetes and dementia-related symptoms, and hasn’t appeared in public since 2011. As one eyewitness recently suggested to The ENQUIRER, Mary seemed to be “at death’s door.”

She’s now living out her final days in her secluded Greenwich mansion, surrounded by caregivers and attended to by her third husband, Dr. Robert Levine.

Back in 1982, the still-vivacious Emmy-winning star, who attended Catholic schools, traveled to the Vatican with her late mother, Marjorie, for a private audience with Pope John Paul II.

Said the source: “At the time, Mary was reeling from the deaths of her beloved son, Richie, and her sister Elizabeth. Meeting and praying with the Pope allowed her to go on.”

In 1978, Elizabeth died of an overdose of the narcotic Darvon and alcohol at the age of 21. Two years later, Mary’s only child, Richard Meeker, died at age 24 from a self-inflicted accidental gunshot wound.

Added the insider: “Mary’s friends are frantically hoping that, should the Pope see her, some kind of miracle extending her life will result!”
