Pals fear KELLY may slip into despair-fueled drug binge following tragic death.
With Kelly Osbourne “heartbroken” over the death of her “Fashion Police” mentor Joan Rivers, friends fear the TV star will fall back into destructive habits.
“Kelly never has been good about handling stress,” a close pal told The National ENQUIRER. “She admits she began using drugs at 13. It’s the stressful things in life that always send her back to that dark place.”
Kelly, 29, has been extremely candid about her grief over Rivers. “I am heartbroken by the loss of my beloved Joan,” Kelly posted on Facebook. “She always will be my teacher, therapist, friend, and inspiration. I will never forget her.”
While Kelly sparkled with Rivers on TV, she’s battled addiction demons for years. “I have been to seven rehabs and two mental institutions,” Kelly recently said. “My mum even had me put in a padded cell once to scare me.”
Since Rivers’ death, Kelly’s been erratic, sources say. She turned up at Rivers’ funeral in a crazy punk look, worrying friends she’d fallen back into the depression she had after splitting with fiancé, Matt Mosshart, earlier this year. Now pals fear that losing Rivers may trigger another relapse. “Joan pushed Kelly to be the best she could be,” said the source. “Losing Joan is like losing her touchstone.”
