Flames of fear nearly cost Katie Holmes her life!
The Thetan enhanced thesp was Down Under shooting fear flick Don’t be Afraid of the Dark when a sequence went horribly wrong as a car Mrs. Cruise was in suddenly burst into flame!
The Dawson’s Creek beauty was shooting inside the car as cameras rolled when suddenly its battery exploded! Luckily crew members were standing by to extinguish the flames and pull Katie to safety before serious injury could blemish her porcelain pores.
"Katie was very shaken by the ordeal," a production insider said.
"She took the rest of the day off while special effects staff looked over the faults."
No doubt Katie woke up Tom to soothe her jangled nerves and returned to lensing the next day.
