Actress Katey Sagal got Kissed – and then some – by the God of Thunder!
In her upcoming new book, “Grace Notes”, the star tells a tale of meeting and having an ongoing relationship with Gene Simmons in the early 1970’s!
Long before she rose to fame as Peg Bundy on ‘Married…with Children’, Sagal was an aspiring singer working as a restaurant waitress in Southern California. One fateful night saw Kiss come in after performing at a local Santa Monica arena.
She was immediately taken with the six-foot-two musician – so much so that she sang for him after he started flirting with her. The two future stars ended up spending the night together at Katey’s pad!
“I thought Gene was really weird, but he was cute and had a lot of confidence”, she recalled.
‘The Demon’ was so smitten and impressed with Sagal that he was able to get her band signed to Kiss’ label at the time, Casablanca Records, after attending a rehearsal the next day!
Their time as label-mates was short lived – her band was dropped after one album – but the fire inside her still burned for him despite Simmons’ growing reputation as a ladies’ man.
“I fantasized that I would be the exception,” she wrote.
