Kanye West proved he’s the King of Hip-Hop at the Sunday night’s American Music Awards, but what he really wants to be is The King — Elvis Presley!
While accepting his trophy for Favorite Album, the rapper said, “I’d like to thank everyone who accepted me trying to break new boundaries in music. It’s our responsibility as musicians to keep pushing each other…We will be the new Beatles, the new [Jimi] Hendrix. I want to be Elvis.”
Someone hand him a peanut butter and banana sandwich to shut him up!
Kanye is well on his way to Graceland. He took home two awards: Favorite Album and Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist.
Other AMA winners include Chris Brown, Rihanna, Daughtry, Alicia Keys and Carrie Underwood.
