Kanye West is mourning the loss of his beloved mother Donda West.
The singer lost his mom unexpectedly over the weekend when she passed away following a medical procedure in Los Angeles. Donda’s rep Patricia Green first told the BBC that her death was “the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure.” A coroner’s official has only said Donda died at Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center from “complications of surgery.” Officials are planning an autopsy by Wednesday.
Donda West was a professor and chair of the English Department at Chicago State University and co-author of the book Raising Kanye: Life Lessons From the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar.
