“He’s obsessed with it and wants it to take center stage in their house,” an insider told The National ENQUIRER.
Finally answering lingering questions as to whether Kanye understood the image’s racial implications, the source added: “He thinks it’s going to be as iconic as Grace Jones’ ‘Island Life’ album cover – and he wants a real-size version of it in statue form for their foyer.”
Kim, 34, drew widespread criticism for the shoot that was designed to “break the Internet.” Critics claimed she was demeaning women and oblivious to the pose’s similarities to black “Hottentot” women at 19th century freak shows.
But her rapper husband, 37, remains her number one fan – and sources said she’s overjoyed at his romantic gesture. “Kim can’t wait to see the end product,” the source said.
“Kanye’s commissioned a sculptor, who’s going to take molds of her body for the statue.”
